Flu Vaccinations 2026

We are happy to announce we will be running a Flu & Covid vaccination campaign this autumn with clinics starting on Saturday 3rd October for our annual drive through vaccination clinic at Mercia School & then in surgery clinics at both Carterknowle & Dore surgery on Saturday 17th October.  Don’t worry if you cant make those dates, we will have other dates available as well. 

We will offer the Influenza vaccination and if you are eligible Covid, Pneumonia, RSV & Shingles vaccinations at the same appointment. – please see eligibility for vaccinations below.

If you are housebound or live in a care home, we will arrange home visits to administer your vaccinations, we will be in touch when our nursing team can visit you.

Eligibility for Flu Vaccination 

From October 2026

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

• are aged 65 or over (including those who will be 65 by 31 March 2027)
• are aged 18 to 64 and have certain long-term health conditions
• are pregnant
• live in a care home
• are the main carer for an older or disabled person, or receive a carer’s allowance
• live with someone who has a weakened immune system
• are experiencing homelessness or staying in a homeless hostel or night shelter

Eligibility for Covid Vaccination –

• adults aged 75 years and over
• residents in care homes for older adults
• individuals who are immunosuppressed aged 6 months and over
