Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 takes place from 11 to 17 May, encouraging people across the UK to take action to support good mental health.
This year’s theme is ‘Action’, highlighting that while awareness is important, real change happens when we take steps to improve our wellbeing and support others. Even small actions can make a difference, helping people feel more hopeful, connected and in control.
Taking action can look different for everyone. It might be doing something positive for yourself, such as taking time to rest, getting outside or building healthy routines. It could also mean reaching out to someone else, checking in with a friend, starting a conversation or offering support. These everyday actions can have a powerful impact on both our own mental health and the wellbeing of those around us.
