Carterknowle Renovation Project

 Starting Monday 26th March, we have plans for a renovation project at Carterknowle practice.

 Building Building 

Although there may be some minor disruption, the practice will be much improved for patients.

The building works should last approximately 6 months.


The renovation will include:

  • An upgrade to all patient waiting areas - including improved seating
  • Installation of a lift
  • Three new downstairs clinical rooms
  • Ramp outside access instead of stairs
  • Automatic front door at entrance

13/08/18 - We are sad to report that due to vandalism in the downstairs disabled toilet, the toilet will be shut this week to be repaired.

With most of the larger scale jobs done on the renovation, there are no new updates to show you. Preparations for the new clinical rooms are still being made.

These rooms will soon become Consulting Room A (Left), B (Middle) and C (Right). You can see where they are located in the surgery on the floor plan above.

Door A new door has now been added between Consulting Room C and the corridor, next to the nurses room.

Day 43 - 25/05/18 - The 3 new downstairs Clinical Rooms are coming together.

The first new Clinical Room (Consulting Room A on the above floor plan) is where the access to the corridor used to be. You can see the new wall from the waiting area here (Above Left).

Access to this corridor is now through a new door  (Above Right) on the other side of the waiting room!

Above Right: At the end of the corridor, just opposite the current Nurse's room, the third Clinical room (Consulting Room C on the above floor plan) is being built.

Day 36 - 16/05/18 - A new Door, walls being taken down and built, and what will become a new downstairs clinical room.

This door will provide access from the downstairs waiting room to the corridor where the clinical rooms and stairs are. Photos taken from the corridor (Left) and the waiting room (right).

The builders have been hard at work, tearing down walls and building new ones, which will eventually become the three new downstairs clinical rooms!
