If it will assist you, the local chemists (Co-operative Pharmacy at Dore and Moss Chemists on Abbeydale Road) will collect your prescriptions from the surgery so that you can obtain your medication directly from them.
All patients on repeat medication are required to have regular reviews and failure to attend for these may result in your medication being unavailable unless you see a doctor. If a hospital changes your medication, you must inform us so that we can amend our records. New patients need to see a doctor before their first repeat prescription can be given.
Issuing of repeat prescriptions by the surgery team or through your pharmacy may require the Sheffield NHS Prescription Order Line staff to look at your medication record.
EPS is an NHS-funded service in England. It gives you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the pharmacy you choose to get your medication or appliances from.
If you currently collect your repeat prescriptions from your GP, you will not have to visit your GP practice to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will send it electronically to the place you choose, saving you time.
This is a free service and you do not need to have a computer to sign up.
This is a safe confidential service ensuring prescriptions cannot be lost.
Please inform our reception team of your chosen pharmacy and they will add this information to your medical record.
You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time- please ask our reception team to change this for you.
For patients on stable regular medication, it may be possible to offer ERD, where the GP can sign a series of prescription for up to 12 months and send electronically to your chosen pharmacy.
If you wish to discuss ERD please contact our reception team. It is suitable for the majority of patients who have a regular medication that are not subject to frequent changes; our receptionists will discuss your request with a GP.
