Requests for home visits for both Carterknowle and Dore patients should be phoned through to the surgery before 10.00am whenever possible please.
Emergency visits take priority at all times. Please remember that visits are for patients who are housebound or too ill to come to surgery.
Telephone consultations are sometimes a way of avoiding the necessity to come to surgery to see a doctor and are used for such things as discussing test results or problems with medication. If you telephone the surgery for an appointment the same day and none are available you may be offered a telephone consultation with a doctor. Should this happen, please be sure to leave an up to date telephone number with the receptionist. In this instance a doctor will telephone back during the course of the morning and will either deal with your problem over the telephone or arrange a suitable slot for you to be seen. The doctors have some emergency appointments available to them that are not bookable by the receptionists if it is deemed necessary for you to be seen on the day.
